Tour Summary:
This holiday
combines a 6 days safari in Kenya and 7 days beach holiday in
the island of Zanzibar
Day 1: Masai
Mara
0800 hrs: Depart
Nairobi morning for the journey through the floor of the Great
Rift Valley. Arrive Mara National reserve in time for lunch.
Afternoon game drive is taken. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa
lodge.
July
- October is usually the best time to visit the Mara as you may
witness part of the annual migration drama when over 1.5 million
wildebeest, zebras and other animals cross from the Serengeti
(In Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Hot on their heels
are the predators of the savannah -lion, cheetah, wild dog,
jackal, hyena and vultures.
Day 2: Masai
Mara
Spend the full
day in the vast plains of Mara search for the big five as you
explore the famous Mara reserve and experience the migration.
Morning and afternoon game drives taken. Meals and overnight at
Mara Sopa Lodge.
Day 3: Masai
Mara - Amboseli
Pre-breakfast
game drive, then depart for Amboseli via Nairobi for lunch.
Amboseli is at the foot of the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro,
Africa’s highest peak. Late afternoon game drive is taken.
Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Sopa lodge.
Day 4:
Amboseli
Full day in this
photogenic park. Two game drives. Meals and overnight at
Amboseli Sopa lodge.
Day 5:
Amboseli - Tsavo East
After breakfast,
Proceed to Tsavo West National park. View game en-route. Arrive
in time for lunch at Shaitani Lava Flow. Visit the Mzima Springs
to view hippos, crocodiles and variety of fish. Dinner and
overnight at Ashnil Aruba lodge.
Day 6: Tsavo
West
After breakfast,
drive to Tsavo west with game drives en route. Meals and
overnight at Rhino Valley Lodge.
Day 7: Tsavo –
Mombasa - Zanzibar
Take an early
morning game drive and after breakfast, depart Tsavo for a 2 and
half hour drive to Mombasa. You will be dropped at the Mombasa
international Airport to catch a flight to Zanzibar. Arrive
Zanzibar in the afternoon where you will be you will be met by
our representative and driver and taken to your hotel in Stone
town.
Overnight at
Zanzibar Coffeehouse or Dhow Palace Hotel.
Day 8: Stone
town Zanzibar
Your program
starts with a morning visit by walk on our Historical Stone Town
Tour. This tour takes you through fabled Stone Town, where
history appears to stand still. With visits to the House of
Wonders, the Palace Museum (People's Palace) and the Arab Fort
amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of
Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar's bustling market, winding
alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and
countless mosques!

Zanzibar Coffeehouse or Dhow Palace Hotel. Breakfast included
Day 9: Spice
tour & Jozani Forest
This day you will
go on an excursion to the spice and fruit plantations close to
Stone town for the famous Spice Tour. We have developed a
special Spice Tour with in depth information not only about
spices, but also organically grown herbs and a detailed
description about their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics
and cooking. After the tour we invite for an opulent lunch at
our guides' home, where you can taste the spices and fruits.
After lunch we take you to your beach resort.
On the way you
pass Jozani Forest, the last habitat of the rare endemic Red
Columbus Monkey. With a local guide you stroll through Jozani Chwaka
National Park and look at the rare monkeys. If you wish you can
even wander down the boardwalk to the fascinating Mangrove
Ecosystem. .

Day 10: Spend
Day at leisure
Relax and unwind
and enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar

Day 11:
Jambiani Village Tour
In the morning
you drive along the coast. Passing the fishing villages of
Bwejuu and Paje you reach Jambiani, a fishermen village on the
East coast of Zanzibar. We offer a cultural village tour to
visit villagers working in different professions. Our guide
tells about the history of the village, you will visit a
traditional herbalist, who will show you the local medicines,
herbs and their uses, a visit to a local organically plantation
on coral stone, where farmers cultivate under difficult
circumstances, and seaweed farms run by woman. A good chance to
learn about the unique culture and the diverse environment of
Zanzibar's villages and to meet the friendly Swahili people. We
will show you real life, not images designed for tourists.

Day 12:
Dolphin Trip
On this day you
go to an excursion to Kizimkazi. Situated on the southern point
of the island, Kizimkazi fishing village is home to several
schools of bottle-nosed dolphins and Humpback dolphins, which
can often be sighted following a short boat trip from the
village. If you are lucky, you may be able to swim quite close
to the dolphins, which can be a very rewarding experience. We
are doing this trip in the afternoon to avoid the crowds of
tourists in the morning, which in big numbers disturbing the
dolphins.

Day 13:
Departure
You will be
transferred to Zanzibar Airport or Seaport for your departure
home.
